9:00 PM: New Marlins pitcher Mark Buehrle cannot live in Miami-Dade County due to a ban on pit bulls. The Buehrle family owns a pit bull terrier along with three other dogs.

8:45 PM: Florida State football players Avis Commack & Arrington Jenkins will not return to the team next season following their felony theft arrests last month. Commack is accused of stealing an iPad, while Jenkins faces charges of stealing a motorcycle.

8:30 PM: A Las Vegas judge has pushed back Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s 90-day jail term to start on June 1 so the boxer won't miss a scheduled May 5 fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

8:15 PM: The NHL says it will not move ahead with realignment for next season after the NHLPA refused tp provide its consent.

7:45 PM: From the Daily Collegian, the lawyer for Tom Bradley confirmed to ESPN that his client has been relieved of his duties as Penn State interim football coach. But Bradley has not been fired by the school.

7:30 PM: MMA Junkie reports Strikeforce women's champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos tested positive for steroids following a Dec. 17 title fight. The California State Athletic Commission has suspended Santos for one year & fined her $2,500.

7:15 PM: Oregon Ducks junior RB LaMichael James is leaving early to apply for the NFL draft.

7:00 PM: A Liverpool soccer fan was arrested at a match for allegedly shouting racist insults at an opposing player. The fan supposedly called Oldham player Tom Adeyemi a"f***ing black bastard."

4:00 PM: A Las Vegas firefighter faces felony burglary charges for allegedly making phony emergency calls to fire stations then robbing food money from the emptied stations.

3:45 PM: Troy Aikman approves of Landry Jones' decision to return to Oklahoma for his senior season: "He'll benefit from the extra year ... as will the Sooners of course."
